3 Beginner Friendly Tunisian Crochet Stitches [Video Tutorials + New Patterns]
I can’t deny it – I’m addicted to Tunisian crochet. I even started a YouTube channel just so I could share that love with the crafty community. So you won’t be surprised that I’m back with a trio of video tutorials for some of my favorite stitches. This time, I’m covering the Tunisian Full Stitch, Simple Stitch, and Honeycomb Stitch, from start to finish.

The Tunisian Simple Stitch
The simple stitch for Tunisian is like the single crochet for traditional crochet. It’s the very first stitch you’re likely to learn and it’s just as versatile and beautiful as any other stitch. My favorite part of Tunisian simple stitch is the effortless texture it produces. The rows of vertical stitches are well defined and really draw your eye. The fabric is solid and stretchy and looks great in any yarn. I’ve also seen some amazing makers cross stitch over Tunisian simple stitch fabric. Give it a try with this video tutorial:
The Tunisian Full Stitch
Another beginner-friendly Tunisian crochet stitch is the Full Stitch. This stitch looks much more difficult that it is, so I was pleased to watch the pattern work up quickly when I first tried it. The 2 row repeat creates a fabric that is also dense but stretchy. The woven looks makes anything with this stitch look store-bought, but you can proudly say you made it with your own two hands. The Honeycomb Stitch in Tunisian Crochet
It’s easy to fall in love with the gentle waves of the Honeycomb Stitch. Alternating simple and purl stitches produce a never ending sea of hexagons for your eyes to get lost in. It’s a toss up for my favorite stitch (I’m still pretty partial to the Smock stitch) and makes beautiful yarn look even better. What I like most about this stitch is it’s versatility. It would look gorgeous as a country dress, a chic pillow, as well as a sweet cardigan. Don’t miss out on the video tutorial here:
