Crochet a Chunky Round Crochet Basket

The Starlight Basket is inspired by one of my favorite patterns, the Jessie Stash Basket. These two patterns share many similarities – they both use 2 strands of yarn to make a chunky basket, they both use the gorgeous waistcoat stitch for textured details, and they both have two handles to keep your WIPs portable.

The key difference between these pieces is the shape. The Jessie Stash Basket is large and rectangular, while the Starlight Basket is petite and round. I like the smaller size for smaller projects, and it doesn’t take up quite so much space on the shelf.

Lion Brand’s Wool-Ease Thick & Quick was an obvious choice for this project. The super bulky wool-blend yarn makes this basket sturdy enough to stand up but soft enough to hold both handles. Add a 9mm crochet hook, scissors, and a stitch marker, and you’re ready to make a round crochet basket!
